Individual, couples, EMDR, and faith-integrated counseling for adults in Glendale, with telehealth available throughout Arizona.
People seek counseling for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a specific problem that needs attention. Other times, life simply feels heavier, more confusing, or less fulfilling than it once did.
Heart CARE Counseling provides individual and couples counseling in Glendale, Arizona, as well as telehealth counseling throughout Arizona. Counseling can help adults and couples better understand what they are experiencing, identify patterns that may be contributing to distress, and work toward healthier ways of relating, coping, and moving forward.
Counseling is tailored to your individual needs, goals, experiences, values, and preferences.
Individual counseling provides a private, collaborative space to explore concerns affecting your emotional well-being, relationships, daily functioning, or sense of direction.
Areas we may address include:
Anxiety, worry, and feeling overwhelmed
Stress and difficult life transitions
Relationship concerns
Grief and loss
Painful or distressing past experiences
Emotional regulation
Self-worth and identity
Boundaries and relationship patterns
Personal growth and decision-making
Faith, spirituality, and questions of meaning when desired
The focus of counseling will depend upon what is most important to you and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together.
Telehealth Counseling
Telehealth counseling is available to adults and couples throughout Arizona. Secure video sessions can provide a convenient option for clients who prefer meeting from home, live outside the Glendale area, or have difficulty traveling to the office.
Relationships can become strained by conflict, disconnection, broken trust, poor communication, difficult life circumstances, or patterns that repeat despite both partners wanting things to improve.
Couples counseling may help partners:
Improve communication
Better understand one another's needs and emotional experiences
Identify unhealthy patterns of interaction
Navigate conflict more effectively
Rebuild emotional connection
Address trust and relationship injuries
Strengthen boundaries
Work through major transitions or decisions
Develop healthier patterns for the future
Couples counseling is not about deciding who is right or wrong. The goal is to better understand the relationship, the patterns affecting it, and what each partner may need in order to create meaningful change.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, commonly known as EMDR, is a structured therapeutic approach often used to help people process distressing experiences and memories that continue to affect the present.
Past experiences can sometimes continue to influence emotions, beliefs, relationships, physical reactions, or behavior even when a person knows intellectually that the experience is over.
EMDR may be appropriate for some clients who experience distress connected with trauma, painful memories, difficult life experiences, or other emotionally significant events.
EMDR is not automatically appropriate for every client or every concern. Before beginning EMDR processing, we will discuss your history, current needs, stability, goals, and whether this approach appears appropriate for you.
For some people, faith and spirituality are deeply connected to how they understand themselves, their relationships, suffering, healing, and meaning.
Heart CARE Counseling welcomes clients of all beliefs and backgrounds.
If you would like faith or spirituality incorporated into counseling, we can thoughtfully include Christian faith, Scripture, prayer, personal spirituality, religious beliefs, or other values that are meaningful to you.
If you prefer counseling without religious or spiritual integration, those topics will not be assumed or imposed.
You do not need to know exactly what type of counseling you need before reaching out.
Part of the counseling process involves understanding what you are experiencing, identifying your goals, and determining which approaches may be most helpful.
My role is not to tell you who you should become. It is to work alongside you as you gain understanding, consider new perspectives, develop healthier patterns, and move toward the changes that matter most to you.
